God’s promises that have been sealed by the blood of Jesus Christ must be fulfilled according to His word. Notice the word of God in Isaiah 42:16, there are 3 important things in the Word of God which are:

  1. In God’s promises, there will always be people who receive the promise. It is said that those who receive God’s promises are like the blind. Physically and condition of the blinds is they cannot see, and they will never know its destination. They will never dare to step or if nobody leads them. The blind people are talking about us as believers even though we physically can see. When we start something new, then obviously we never know what will happen and which way we should go. We need God to lead us, because only in God our future and hope can be found.
  2. The new road we have never known. The bible explains that the new road is not an easy road, this road looks narrow and we do not know so it does not appeal to the people who saw it, but it provides salvation and abundance. We need God’s guidance to be able to recognize this road and take steps according to God’s will.
  3. The Bible records that God values obedience and rewards those who are willing to step in God’s guidance in obedient and the God’s promise is God will transform the darkness into the light. All that is made by our hand, blessed by the Lord will succeed.

TODAY’S WORD: Psalm 25:8-10, NKJV

8 Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore, He teaches sinners in the way. 9 The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. 10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.

“I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them.”  (Isaiah 42:16)

If today you are going to start something new, do not be fooled by the thinking that discourages you to go, ask and involve God, have a sensitive heart to capture God’s signs and when God gives confirmation immediate obey and do it, He will give light to drive out darkness and straighten the road to God’s abundant blessings.

Obedience will bring you to salvation and abundance.

John 1:1-18

The Word Became Flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—  13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

15 (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”) 16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

Today’s Inspiration

What kind of life you are living now? Is it like balloon or egg? What is the difference? Balloon always appears beautiful and interesting. There are no children who do not like balloon. Many balloons are round in shape and colourful. It can move around. The situations in birthday parties will be even more cheerful with balloons. However, all of these things are just tricks. What is the inside of a balloon? Empty right? It is true that there is gas in the inside of the balloon. But when it is ripped, the gas will become one with the air surrounding us. Are our lives like that? That we just appear beautiful but our lives are meaningless?

How about egg? Eggs also round in shape. Compared to the beautiful balloon, egg seems to be unattractive. It is small and fragile. But even if it seems to be empty, egg contains life. Egg has great potential. It needs time to hatch and in order to do so it will need heat and struggles so that the child of the rooster will come out of the shell at last.

This life is fragile indeed. We can experience pressure after pressure. But we are not designed to have a life like a balloon. We are challenged to have life, even to have it in abundance. Even though life is fragile like an egg, we are challenge to keep on living it while expanding our potentials as they are the gifts of God. Our presence maybe can only be for a while and not for a long time. But what we are doing in this life matters to God. We exist not for a meaningless cause, but to be used greatly.

If you are right now are wasting your time, remember carefully that we are not going to live optimally if we keep on wasting time. We will later on enter the eternity as victorious people, or, as the people who are losing. That will be determined by how we live right now. The challenge is are you living your life now like a balloon or are you like the egg?

Today’s Reflection

  1. The same question again: are you living your life now like a balloon or like the egg?
  2. What kind of life are you living right now? Are you chasing after maturity or something that is in vain?

Today’s Action

Build a meaningful life for God and the others.

Today’s Word

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” [John 10:10, NIV]
