ENTER INTO THE DESTINY OF GOD

ENTER INTO THE DESTINY OF GOD

Sermon Notes of Pastor Enoch Chan at Bethany International Service, Sunday, 22 February 2015, summarized by Brother Gilbert Khoo

I believe this year is the year of the Lord’s favor, are we ready for the works of God?  In God’s timing, He sees a person’s position with a great importance.  God is waiting for us to be at the right standing.  This is a strategic moment for Singapore, open heavens and we all should get ready. Have we entered into that strategic moment?

How do we enter into God’s right Timing and Position?

God Himself decides it. We must tune in to His leading and do our part.

3 points to enter into the destiny of God: Time, Position, and Attitude however, we will concentrate more on our position.

Time

we can be at the right time, but at the wrong platform and we will miss the train! Example if we are the right place and at the right time but have the wrong attitude, we will still miss our destiny!

Position

God has prepared a special position for each one of us to receive the fullness of God’s blessings. The position can manifest God’s power and abundance. Ps Niko Njotoradhardjo was formerly a businessman but God wanted him to enter into His specific plan, the place that God has designed for him.  Find God’s placing in our life.  When we enter into the place that God has prepared for you, we will bring a great impact for God’s Kingdom.  What does the position of God’s blessings mean? Where is our position? A specific position God has intended for us.

1. A position of faith

You will bring about God’s miracle and blessings. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please God. God is pleased with us when we have faith in Him. Abraham stood at the place of faith because he entered into the place God wanted him to be. God will fulfill what He has promised to us when we are in the right position. When Pastor Enoch was young, a strong typhoon swept across the Taiwan Island and it caused disruption to the electricity supply. The wind was so strong that he saw his mother holding to the pillar of the hut and praying. The roof of the hut was made of straws and it could we blown away by the strong wind.  The hut could collapse anytime and Pastor Enoch’s mom was crying out to the Lord in tears.  After praying for a while together with his mother, he fell asleep and the first thing when he woke up the hut was to check if the roof was still intact. When he stepped out of the house the surrounding huts were destroyed and only their family hut was standing strong.

2. A position of obedience

1 Samuel 15:22 teaches us to obey is better than to offer sacrifices.  God sees our obedience more than our religious activities.   We may be a great worshipper in the church but when we disobey Him, God will not be pleased with our worship. The Israelites followed pillars of cloud and fire as they obeyed the Lord, the blessings of the Lord followed them.  When we walk in God’s commandments, His anointing, peace, joy and blessings will flow out from our life.  If Elijah did not obey the Lord the 3.5 years of famine would not have become God’s miracle. In God there is no coincidence.

3. A position of Calling.

It is a place of God’s abundance blessings.  Reinhard Bonnke knew in his heart that Africa is the place of blessing that God has planned for him. He responded to God’s call and experienced the miracles from God!

Israel is a desert with low rainfall (less than 30 days) but this country can turn adversities into miracles because of they obeyed the calling. One of the leaders of Israel, Shimon Perez was once quoted, “Our greatest blessing is we have nothing.“

When Pastor Enoch was in the first year of his bible school, he did not have enough money to pay his school fees by installment.   So Pastor Enoch started to pray if the Lord had called him, He(Jehovah Jireh) should provide for the Bible school fees.  Suddenly a sister in Christ who did not even know Pastor Enoch came to him and gave him and an envelope that contained money. Later, he found another envelope at his mailbox and when he checked it, it contained money and together with the earlier money he received from the sister in Christ, it was the exact amount he required to pay his school fees!  When we stand in the place of God’s calling, His blessings will chase us.

4. The position of being a servant

who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. (Philippians 2:6-7 NASB)

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28 NASB)

Even God did not come to be served but He is willing to become a servant. We need to learn to put down our own status and be willing to be a blessing to meet other people’s needs through the calling that God has placed us.

Mother Teresa was cleaning up a person with leprosy and a western reporter interviewed her. As the reporter drew near, the reporter could not stand the odor of the rotting flesh from the leper.  The reporter said that even if he was offered a huge sum of money, he would still not do that. Mother Theresa replied that she would also do the same. Instead she did it because of Jesus.  Are we willing to go to the place that others are not willing to go?  Have we found our destiny in Christ? Respond to God’s specific calling in your life.

OUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY TO THE PROMISED LAND

OUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY TO THE PROMISED LAND

Sermon Notes of Ps Djohan Handojo at Bethany International Service, Sunday, 15 February 2015, summarized by Sister Stella Ho and edited by Brother Gilbert Khoo

John 15:16 You did not choose Me but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit shall remain.

We are the people of God who has been chosen and appointed by God Himself.

Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

  1. God Can Provide Through Men

The chosen people of God, Israelites were brought out of Egypt to the Promised Land by God through Moses. Likewise we are the spiritual Israelites, chosen by God. God will make His purpose to be fulfilled in your life, as He did back then to his chosen nation.

Genesis 45:10 is the starting of the journey of the Israelites to the Promised Land. Joseph was granted authority from Pharaoh the sovereign ruler of Egypt.   God will provide the needs of His chosen people.

You shall dwell in the land of Goshen (the best of the land) and you shall be near to me, you and your children, your children’s children, your flocks and your herds and all that you have.  Joseph blessed His family despite his brothers’ wrongdoings towards him. V. 11 There I will provide for you…

Facing the year 2015 God will provide whatever we need in our life because we are His chosen people. God can provide through other people like the Israelites was provided by Joseph in Goshen, the best of the land. If you are the only Christian in your family, God is able to provide for you in the same manner God provided for his chosen nation.

However, the Bible teaches us to rely on the Lord, not to depend on men. In Jeremiah 17:5, “cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord.” Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord. (Jeremiah 17:7)

  1. God can provide through His own Hands.

Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt. “Look,” he said to his people, “the Israelites have become far too numerous for us. Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.” (Exodus 1:8-10)

During the 40 years in the journey to the Promised Land. God Jehovah Jireh He never failed to provide manna, fresh water from the rock.  God’s hands were upon His chosen people His Presence the pillar of cloud and fire, His protection and guidance.

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:19)

If no body can provide for us, God will provide supernaturally according to His glory. We will walk with Him from glory to glory.

In the journey to the Promised Land God also introduced Himself as Jehovah Rapha, God is our Healer.  Jehovah Nissi (The Lord is My Banner).

  1. God can provide through our own hands.

We have been given talents, creativity and special abilities to multiply the blessings of God in our life.  God anoints our hands and establishes the works of our hands.  If we happen to be good in a certain area it is because of God’s anointing.  There was a time in Joshua 5: 12 the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year. Even the Israelites had to put in efforts with their own hands to have their sufficiency.

The supernatural power of God will be released to us as we toil our land.  We need to be diligent and hard working.  Wake up in the morning, seek God’s face and set a good example to our family.  Don’t talk only without any action.  Start with our self to be an example to those around us especially our children.

Mat 25 the parable of the talents. Develop your skills. If we don’t have any seeds, God is able to provide us with the seeds of talents and gifts of God.  Sow it back into God’s Kingdom to see growth in His time.   The fear of the Lord is not hiding from God, or to create distance from the Lord.  The fear of the Lord is to draw near to Him in awe and reverence and to respect and honor God.

Be persistent and consistent until you become and expert.

  1. God Can Provide For us through the Hands of the Enemy

God allowed our enemies to rise up to bring us to a higher level instead of taking us down.

In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat called the Israelites to praise the Lord and exalted Him. God delivered the entire nation the Israelites from their strong enemies. They went and carried away the plunder of their enemies and it took them 3 days to collect it! Remind ourselves that are enemies are not against flesh and blood but against the power of darkness and principalities.

God is faithful and He is able to bring us to the Promised Land in our faith journey.
